#25 Osceola (4,315 ft.)

I hiked Osceola one day after schlepping up Sandwich Dome (3,980 ft. ish) and two weeks before the hardest hike I had ever attempted. I told myself both were training hikes, and they were, but for some reason Sandwich Dome felt the longest and hardest of those, whether because of the bugs or the heat or the rush to get done by dinner time. Never rush a hike is the moral here.

Osceola isn’t a terribly hard hike, and I had excellent views of the Sandwich Range and, with a crane of the neck, north to the Presidentials.

The hour trip down and up to East Osceola and then back again was more taxing, given that I was tired and hot, but leaving East Osceola for another day, and via the ascent from the Kanc side, was much less palatable.
